Located on the edge of Love Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania lays the site of the 15th and Arch St. Hotel. The concept of the hotel started with analyzing Philadelphia and realizing that it has a high pedestrian circulation which helped with the interpretation of the site. The site is on the edge of the taller skyscrapers and the lower laying older buildings of the city. The question was to embrace the taller buildings or the lower buildings. This question gave rise to the approach and of the decision to embrace them both and use the circulation to establish the design of the hotel. A land bridge connecting the park and the second story restaurant of the hotel was established making a gesture to the skyscrapers of downtown. The Lobby was put on the first floor and made thin to give the notion of the ability to pass on while still being able to establish oneself. The rooms are laid out so each person has own room with windows that set up a connection to the outside public realm. Also the atrium allows one to view the movement of people which gives the connection to the circulation of Philadelphia.
